Job SummaryCaretree Health is seeking an experienced HVAC/Maintenance Technician to complete maintenance projects and maintain HVAC equipment at our nursing facilities. This position requires hands‑on general maintenance skills combined with solid HVAC knowledge and involves regular travel between facilities located within approximately two hours of Rochester. Work is performed in occupied, resident‑centered healthcare environments, so the technician must be able to work safely and courteously around residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Complete general maintenance projects, including repairs, installations, and preventive maintenance tasks at nursing facility locations
- Inspect, maintain, service, and repair commercial HVAC systems and related equipment (rooftop units, chillers, boilers, air handlers, ductwork, controls, etc.)
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and HVAC issues and perform necessary repairs with minimal disruption to residents and staff
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability, indoor air quality, and consistent temperature control
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and equipment failures, prioritizing resident comfort and safety
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and equipment condition for compliance and inspection purposes
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and applicable building, mechanical, and healthcare facility codes
- Follow infection control, safety, and facility‑specific protocols required when working in occupied healthcare settings
- Travel between nursing facility sites within roughly a 2‑hour radius of Rochester as assigned
- Coordinate with facility staff, administrators, and outside vendors/contractors as needed
- Working knowledge of general building maintenance (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, etc.)
- Solid knowledge of HVAC systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and repair
- Prior experience in a maintenance and/or HVAC technician role preferred; healthcare or nursing facility experience a plus
- Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in occupied resident care environments and following facility health/safety protocols
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
- Ability to travel regularly to nursing facility sites within about 2 hours of Rochester
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied physical conditions (heights, confined spaces, rooftops, outdoor weather)
- Ability to pass required background check/clearance for work in a healthcare facility
This role requires frequent travel between nursing facility sites located within approximately two hours of Rochester. Work is performed in occupied commercial healthcare buildings, so the technician must be able to work respectfully and safely around residents, families, and staff. Mileage/travel reimbursement details will be discussed at time of hire.
