Position Objective

Genesee Brewery is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Electrician to support our brewing, packaging, utilities, and facility operations. This position provides the opportunity to troubleshoot and maintain a wide range of automated production equipment, motors, controls, instrumentation, and electrical systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

We are looking for an experienced industrial electrician who enjoys solving problems, working as part of a skilled trades team, and keeping critical production equipment operating safely and reliably.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial electrical and control systems
  • Work safely on AC and DC circuits, including single-phase and three-phase systems
  • Diagnose electrical and automation-related equipment failures and identify root causes
  • Troubleshoot motors, motor controls, relays, sensors, safety circuits, and variable-frequency drives
  • Install, remove, repair, and adjust electrical and pneumatic instruments and actuators
  • Install and maintain wiring and cabling for production equipment, control systems, computers, and communications equipment
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams
  • Coordinate with engineers, controls technicians, mechanics, and production employees
  • Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Follow electrical safety requirements, including lockout/tagout and applicable electrical codes
  • Contribute to a respectful, diverse, and inclusive workplace
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least two years of industrial electrical maintenance experience
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial electrical and control systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot relay-based controls, motors, sensors, and safety circuits
  • Experience troubleshooting and replacing variable-frequency drives
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and use electrical testing equipment safely
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • An associate degree, electrical apprenticeship, trade-school education, or equivalent technical training is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant industrial experience will be considered.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs and HMIs
  • Experience troubleshooting industrial communications networks
  • Experience programming or configuring VFDs
  • Knowledge of industrial instrumentation and pneumatic controls
  • Ability to plan electrical installations and wiring layouts
  • Experience in food, beverage, packaging, or other high-speed manufacturing environments

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

  • Frequently walk, stand, climb stairs or ladders, kneel, crouch, and work beneath or around production equipment
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Work safely in confined spaces when properly trained and authorized
  • Work indoors and outdoors, in maintenance shops and production areas
  • Work in environments that may be noisy, humid, hot, cool, or damp

The starting pay rate is $39.04 - 45.19/hour, as set forth in the applicable bargaining agreement.
