Field/Service Technician, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Service Technician I at MKS Instruments
As a Service Technician I at MKS Instruments, you will partner with service to test and troubleshoot RF products, ensuring they meet the company's quality standards. In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager Service.
You Will Make an Impact By:
- Basic Technical Support:
In diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and debugging RF products. - Complex Servicing and Repair:
Conduct in-house servicing and repair of RF products, addressing complex mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures. - System Optimization:
Analyze and implement solutions to enhance customer satisfaction. - Documentation:
Maintain detailed records of service activities, including test results, service reports, and customer communications. - Mentorship:
Provide guidance and training to junior technicians, sharing knowledge and best practices. - Travel Requirements:
Up to 0% of travel is required.
Skills You Bring:
- Education:
Associate's degree in electronics or a related field from a two-year college, military program, or equivalent work experience. - Experience:
0+ years of experience in servicing and repairing RF products or related electronic equipment. - Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in using RF test equipment, and the ability to troubleshoot complex electronic systems. - Attention to Detail:
Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain high-quality workmanship. - Communication
Skills:
Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
Preferred
Skills:
(Optional)
- Experience with RF generator boards and related test equipment.
- Familiarity with 6S and Lean methodologies.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Physical Demands and
Working Conditions:
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay Range: $14.72 - 24.53 per hour. This range is a good faith estimate of the expected salary range for this position, based on a wide range of factors including qualifications, experience and training, operational and business needs and other considerations permitted by law. At MKS, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for the role.
Bonus:
This position is eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, in an amount to be determined by MKS [or as applicable].
