The Lead Low Voltage Technician is a full-time, on-site position based in Rochester, New York. This role serves as a senior field resource supporting both installation and service operations for commercial low voltage systems. Responsibilities include installing, programming, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining CCTV, access control, fire alarm, intercom, and structured cabling systems, while providing technical leadership and support across multiple projects and service assignments.
The Lead Low Voltage Technician will read and interpret blueprints, specifications, wiring diagrams, and system schematics; troubleshoot system, equipment, and network-related issues; perform system commissioning and customer training; and coordinate with project managers, field personnel, and customers to ensure successful project execution. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical knowledge of low voltage systems, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and customer service.
Qualifications- Minimum of five years of experience installing and servicing low voltage systems.
- Experience leading crews, mentoring technicians, or serving as a senior field resource.
- Experience with CCTV, access control, structured cabling, and electronic security systems.
- Experience with Turing and Hanwha camera systems preferred.
- Experience with Prodata Key (PDK) access control systems preferred.
- Experience with Fire-Lite fire alarm systems, Mircom systems, and AiPhone intercom systems preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across low voltage and IP-based systems.
- Working knowledge of networking principles and network-connected devices.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and system schematics.
- Strong communication, leadership, organizational, and customer service skills.
Position: Full-Time
Compensation: $30 - $35 per hour, based on experience
