Automated Equipment Mechanic

Responsibilities We are looking for an Automated Equipment Mechanic (AEM) to support the Advanced Materials and Chemicals Division in Rochester, NY.

Responsibilities include:

providing multi-discipline capability to repair, maintain, install, and make improvements to chemical processing equipment and machinery (includes pneumatics, hydraulics, controls (PLC's), and electrical components); ability to fabricate to exact tolerances using lathes, drill presses, grinders, and other shop equipment; some experience or expertise in piping, HVAC equipment and controls; ability to achieve a high level of expertise of chemical process equipment for effective troubleshooting and equipment repair;

execute preventive maintenance program; calibrate, alignment and make adjustments with test equipment and production equipment; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and maintenance software tools.

Qualifications include: HS diploma; formal instrumentation, electrical, mechanical, and/or AEM training and demonstrated experience; mechanical equipment repair training and/or demonstrated experience: pumps, mechanical seals, agitators, gear boxes, fans (bearings, sheaves), alignment; demonstrate effective analytical troubleshooting skills; able to read electrical, instrument and machine drawings; able to read PLC programs to troubleshoot equipment problems; ability to work effectively with minimal supervision; excellent safety record – places safety and environment as top priority in all work;

knowledge of Lock Out / Tag Out; understanding of electrical codes for hazardous environments (flammable liquids); good communication skills – daily communications with maintenance planner, technical staff and operations as needed; good team player – willing to be flexible, work in other areas and with other trades as needed.

Minimum Education Level and

Experience:

4-year schooling and Journeyman or 7 plus years of demonstrated experience.

Work Schedule:

Work schedule will be on days 6am to 230PM and shifts as needed.
