UI Engineer; Contractor

Role Summary

User Interface (UI) Engineers at Citadel Securities are crucial members of the team gathering requirements and continuously delivering high-quality applications. Our UI Engineers leverage advanced JavaScript knowledge and visualization skills to build scalable and performant web applications.

These members of our team are thought leaders who engage the development community to push boundaries of what is the next generation of our web platform.

• Develop solutions that enable our client facing investment professionals to research, monitor, and trade in real-time on internal/external information. This includes gathering requirements, prototyping solutions, and delivering final products that optimize users workflows and interactions across the investment process.
• Partner with the industry’s top analysts, traders, quantitative researchers, and data scientists to design, develop, and deploy solutions that answer fundamental questions about financial markets.
• Visualize financial data in a way that will allow investment professionals to discover new insights, improve research processes, and decision-making.
• Drive our evolution by challenging the status quo and identifying opportunities to enhance our platform.

• 5-10 years of work experience, ideally within client/customer facing UX/UI development experience
• Passion for working with users and developing solutions that deliver amazing user experience (multi-tenants, real-time, high performance web applications)
• Experience with any of the following:
  React, Angular, Redux, Electron, Web Assembly, Node.js
• Experience with wire-framing, prototyping and user-centric design
• Proficiency with JavaScript (ES6) and Type Script
• Proficiency with HTML5 (Canvas, Web Workers, Web Sockets), CSS3, SASS
• Strong written and verbal communications skills
• Bachelor’s, Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

In accordance with applicable law, the base salary range for this role is $175,000 to $350,000. In addition, the employee who fills this role will be eligible to participate in a discretionary incentive compensation program, as well as a wide array of benefit programs, such as medical and life insurance, retirement and tax‑free savings plans, and access to other healthcare programs.
