Sr. Software Engineer

We’re looking for a Senior Java Developer to join our ever‑evolving Heartland School Solutions Engineering Team and help shape the future of global commerce.

• Design and deliver scalable web applications and application programming interfaces (APIs) that enable secure, reliable payment experiences for K‑12 clients while supporting long‑term product growth and platform performance.
• Drive software quality and engineering excellence by building maintainable, well‑tested solutions that improve system stability, accelerate delivery and reduce operational risk.
• Influence technical decisions and development standards by identifying opportunities for improvement, sharing expertise and helping elevate code quality across the team.
• Own the successful delivery of enterprise‑ready solutions from concept through production, ensuring business requirements are translated into measurable outcomes for clients and stakeholders.
• Strengthen product performance and client satisfaction through proactive troubleshooting, continuous improvement and the resolution of complex technical challenges that impact business success.

• 5+ years of experience developing Java‑based software solutions, with demonstrated success delivering scalable, production‑grade applications in enterprise environments.
• Strong expertise in Spring Boot, RESTful APIs and modern web technologies, including HTML, CSS and JavaScript or Type Script.
• Proven ability to solve complex technical problems, diagnose issues effectively and deliver high‑quality solutions that balance business needs with technical excellence.
• Experience collaborating within Agile Scrum teams, contributing to shared goals while taking ownership of individual outcomes and deliverables.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to build productive relationships across engineering, quality assurance and business teams.

  Experience developing single‑page applications using Angular or similar frameworks.
