SaaS Architect – Analytics Platform
Position Summary
The Founding SaaS Architect is responsible for defining and evolving the technical architecture for Qualitrol's Analytics as a Service platform. This individual will establish the engineering standards, architecture and technical direction required to rapidly build secure, scalable and maintainable cloud-native analytics services.
The architect will partner closely with the Product Owner and Product Engineers to ensure the platform evolves rapidly while maintaining a high standard of software quality, cybersecurity and operational excellence. Success in this role requires balancing long-term architectural vision with hands-on technical leadership in a fast-paced startup environment.
Primary ResponsibilitiesPlatform Architecture
Define the architecture supporting:
- Rotating Machine Analytics
- Grid Analytics
- Future Analytics Services
Ensure solutions are:
- Cloud-native and on prem
- Secure
- Scalable
- Highly available
- Maintainable
Provide technical leadership across the incubator.
Guide engineering decisions including:
- Architecture
- Design patterns
- APIs
- Data models
- Security
- Performance
- Observability
Coach engineers through design reviews and architecture reviews.
AI-First EngineeringChampion AI-assisted software development including:
- Specification-driven development
- AI-assisted coding
- Automated code reviews
- Automated testing
- Documentation generation
- Technical debt reduction
Continuously improve engineering productivity through AI-enabled workflows.
Engineering ExcellenceEstablish standards for:
- Code quality
- Dev Sec Ops
- CI/CD
- Test automation
- Cloud operations
- Cybersecurity
Partner closely with Dev Ops to ensure operational excellence.
Technology StrategyEvaluate emerging technologies.
Lead technical decisions regarding:
- Cloud platforms
- AI technologies
- Data architecture
- Microservices and plugins
- APIs
- Event-driven systems
- Edge-to-cloud integration
- 10+ years enterprise software development
- 5+ years architecting SaaS platforms
- Strong cloud architecture experience
- Experience designing highly available distributed systems
- Experience leading engineering teams
- Deep understanding of Dev Sec Ops
Experience with:
- Microsoft Azure
- AWS
- Kubernetes
- Event-driven architectures
- Industrial IoT
- Industrial Analytics
- AI-assisted software development
Within 12 months:
- Scalable SaaS architecture established
