Summer Aquatics Employment Opportunities

Qualified candidates will be contacted for interviews beginning March 2026.

• Stand watch or patrol beach or swimming pool; keep bathers within bounds and aid them when in difficulty.
• Maintain order and enforce rules; administer first aid and CPR as required.

• Special Requirements:
  Must be 15 years of age at appointment for lifeguard and 16 years for beach lifeguard. Current American Red Cross CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard certifications (or equivalent) required. If assigned to Durand Eastman Beach, obtain Open Water Module and kayak training.

Pay: $20.60 per hour (Lifeguard) or $20.82 per hour (Beach Lifeguard).

• Supervise at least one lifeguard and additional staff; stand watch or patrol; keep bathers safe; report incidents; enforce safety policies through inspections.

• Minimum Qualifications:
  
  Two (2) months full‑time experience as lifeguard.
• Special Requirements:
  Must be 17 years of age; current CPR, First Aid, Lifeguard certifications (or equivalent). If on beach, Open Water Module and kayak training required.

Pay: $20.87 per hour (Lieutenant) or $21.08‑21.27 per hour (Beach Lieutenant).

• Supervise a group of lifeguards and staff; maintain schedules; enforce safety policies; train and counsel subordinates; prepare simple reports.

• Minimum Qualifications:
  
  Two (2) months full‑time paid lifeguard experience plus two (2) months full‑time supervising lifeguards.
• Special Requirements:
  Must be 18 years of age; current Water Safety Instructor, CPR, First Aid, Lifeguard certifications (or equivalent). If on beach, Open Water Module and kayak training required.

Pay: $21.73‑23.13 per hour (Lifeguard Captain) or $22.19‑23.59 per hour (Beach Captain).

• Maintain cleanliness, order, and security in locker room.

• Minimum Qualifications:
  
  High school diploma or GED.

Pay: $17.02 per hour.

• Supervise locker room, distribute keys, enforce rules.

• Minimum Qualifications:
  
  Three (3) months experience supervising adults or children OR three (3) months experience as a security guard.

Pay: $16.89 per hour.

• Safe operation of aquatic facility; supervise seasonal employees; perform related work.

• Minimum Qualifications:
  
  High school diploma or GED and four (4) months supervising lifeguards and providing instruction.
• Special Requirements:
  Current CPR, First Aid, Lifeguard, Water Safety Instructor certifications (or equivalent). Must be 19 years of age. If on beach, open water module and kayak training required.

Pay: $23.37‑24.77 per hour.

• Maintenance and safe operation of beachfront; train and supervise personnel.

• Minimum Qualifications:
  
  High school diploma or GED and six (6) months supervising lifeguards.
• Special Requirements:
  Current CPR, Lifeguard/First Aid, Open Water Module, Water Safety Instructor certifications; kayak training; must be 19 years of age at appointment.

Pay: $27.91 per hour.

• Assist manager in supervision of personnel; supervise seasonal employees.

• Minimum Qualifications:
  
  High school diploma or GED and four (4) months supervising lifeguards.
• Special Requirements:
  Current CPR, Lifeguard/First Aid, Open Water Module, Water Safety Instructor certifications; kayak training; must be 19 years of age.

Pay: $23.37‑24.77 per hour.

• Maintain grounds; operate equipment; perform general labor.

• Minimum Qualifications:
  
  Six (6) months paid full‑time experience in operation of ground maintenance equipment.
• Special Requirements:
  Valid New York State Class D driver license maintained throughout employment.

Pay: $18.99 per hour.
