Description
Planet Aid is a nonprofit organization that collects and recycles used textiles to protect the environment and support sustainable development in impoverished communities around the world. We are seeking a full‑time Driver II.
This position is responsible for driving trucks of multiple sizes up to a 20‑foot box truck and transporting material from host locations to the Planet Aid Business Unit. The driver will service the sites and routes provided by Planet Aid, collect all bagged and loose clothes and shoes in and around the bins, and maintain the sites by cleaning and disposing of eventual rubbish.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other responsibilities may be assigned)- Demonstrate safe/efficient‑driving skills.
- Comply with federal, state, and local laws and guidelines.
- Provide good customer service and communicate verbally with customers professionally.
- Adhere to and enforce all safety procedures.
- Service the donation bins designated on a route daily.
- Empty the donation bin, clean, and collect eventual rubbish disposed of around the bins.
- Unload the truck in the Planet Aid unit.
- Communicate with management regarding any problems or safety concerns.
- Be prepared and flexible to perform associated and related job functions that are not specifically identified in this job description.
- High school diploma or equivalent years of experience in lieu of a diploma.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Ability to obtain a DOT medical card.
- Knowledge of FMCSA guidelines and ability to communicate per FMCSA.
- An accepted driving record with insurance.
- Two years of commercial small‑truck driving experience.
