Position Overview

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Rochester, NY. This role offers weekly pay, comprehensive benefits, and a career‑focused driving experience.

• Base pay: $1,330 per week or more
• Hourly pay: $28.00 per hour
• Hours per week: 40 – 45
• Paid training
• Schedule:
  
  7‑day operation with 2 days off and start times between 7:00 AM – 7:30 AM
• Equipment provided:
  Day cab tractor, Dry Van 53', manual pallet jack, lift gates & rolling carts
• Freight type:
  Touch‑Donated Goods
• Truck: 36 months or newer, 24/7 roadside maintenance, fueling at 800 locations

• 80 hours PTO in the first year, available from day one

• Minimum 21 years of age
• Pass Ryder drug test
• Pass Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check (including drug/alcohol verification from prior employers for the past 3 years)
• Pass DOT physical
• Pass Ryder road test
• Appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position
• Class A CDL experience:
  • 9 months within the last 3 years
  • or 2 years within the last 5 years
  • or 5 years within the last 10 years
• Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply laws, rules, and regulations

• Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and agency rules
• Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards
• Maintain accurate records and logs
• Load and unload freight as required by customer
• Operate within a 150–250‑mile radius of Rochester, NY (local daily route)
• Make safety decisions as the driver (captain) and protect job status
• Perform any other duties assigned
