Provide transportation for residents and all other authorized individuals to and from The Summit according to a pre-existing schedule. Maintain constant communication with the Concierge desk and residents through the effective use of a two-way radio. Perform these services with courtesy and respect.
EDUCATION /QUALIFICATION:
High School or equivalent. Driver must be able to perform basic mathematics functions. Must be a good communicator/listener. Must have a valid, current New York State Driver License. Class CDLC with P and N1 endorsement and 19A certification preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:- Reviews daily schedule with Concierge/Lead Driver before first departure.
- Operates the Summit vehicle in a safe manner at all times
- Assists residents in /out of vehicle and to/from door of appointment/errands when needed.
- Oversees and assists staff and volunteers who assist with resident transportation.
- Serves as back up to valet service.
- Keeps track of resident departures and pick-ups to avoid passengers being stranded.
- Performs pickup and delivery of items pertaining to The Summit or residents
- All other job duties as assigned.
At least 3 years of driving experience with some bus driving experience preferred. Working with the elderly, and experience, with clients using wheelchair strongly preferred. Commercial Drivers License (CDL) preferred.
