Counter Salesperson​/Material Handler

Alro Steel Corporation, a leading metals, industrial supplies, and plastics distributor, is seeking a 1st Shift Counter Salesperson/Material Handler. In this role you will assist walk-in and phone customers, provide quotes, enter orders, and process transactions while delivering friendly, accurate service. You will pick, stage, and load metal products, operate forklifts and overhead cranes, and help maintain a clean, safe warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Assist walk-in and phone customers with metal and industrial supply orders
• Generate quotes, enter orders, and process sales transactions accurately
• Pick, stage, and load materials for customer pickup and delivery
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and material handling equipment safely
• Inspect, measure, and verify materials against order specifications
• Maintain organized, clean, and safe warehouse and counter areas
• Coordinate with shipping, logistics, and operations to meet delivery commitments
• Follow company safety policies and participate in ongoing safety training
• Support inventory control, including cycle counts and stock rotation
• Build strong customer relationships through responsive, reliable service
