The Clinical Dental Director provides leadership, guidance, and oversight for all clinical operations within the dental practice. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care, supports clinical staff development, and upholds the highest standards of safety, compliance, and professionalism. The Clinical Dental Director partners with administrative leadership to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen patient experience, and drive clinical excellence across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership to dentists, hygienists, assistants, and support staff.
- Maintain and model the highest standards of patient care, safety, and ethical practice.
- Oversee clinical protocols, quality assurance programs, and evidence-based treatment guidelines.
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance evaluations for clinical team members.
- Ensure compliance with all state dental regulations, OSHA standards, and infection-control policies.
- Collaborate with administrative leadership on scheduling, workflow optimization, and resource planning.
- Review and approve complex treatment plans; provide mentorship and case support for providers.
- Foster a positive, team-centered culture with strong communication and patient-centered values.
- Monitor clinical performance metrics and implement improvements where needed.
- Represent the practice in community outreach, professional events, and continuing education initiatives.
- DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school.
- Active state dental license in good standing.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience; leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and clinical excellence.
