Welder IIreports directly to the Night Shift Supervisor while performing intermediate welding skills and fabrication techniques with standards of excellence.
This full-time WelderIIposition is 100% on-site in Rock Falls, Illinois, and eligible for insurance benefits on the 1st day of the month following date of hire. Work schedule is Sunday through
Wednesday from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
- Performs intermediate welding skills and fabrication techniques specific to tank construction, bead size, and other specifications with standards of excellence for safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, and accuracy.
- Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering drawings, diagrams, and schematics, to perform MIG and TIG weldments and/or fixtures.
- Takes and uses accurate measurements to perform weldments according to specifications.
- Examines welds for appropriate bead size and other specifications.
- Records time accurately to customer jobs by utilizing the ERP system.
- Operates and uses overhead hoist (with crane) and rigging techniques to safely and properly lift and maneuver tanks.
- Operates powered industrial trucks including motorized pallet jacks.
- Supports team to consistently deliver operational effectiveness with standards of excellence.
- Leads by example and prioritizes safety and compliance such as completing training requirements timely and wearing personal protective equipment.
- Performs other relevant duties, tasks, assignments, and projects, upon request or as business needs require.

Physical Demands:
Constant standing with repetitious hand and finger movements to use and operate welding gun, hand and power tools, welding and brazing equipment, torches, and shields; detect, perceive, identify, observe, inspect, and assess welding functions; express and exchange information in-person. Constant moving/traversing and positioning self to reach overhead and at or below the shoulder; move and position objects up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment:
Constantly works in manufacturing setting on the shop floor with exposure to fluctuating temperatures and noise levels at or above 100 decibels on average. Working on the shop floor requires safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety footwear with metatarsal guard. Welding requires additional personal protective equipment including gloves, weld jacket/sleeves, weld hood, and face shield.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree or certificate from accredited academic institution in welding preferred.
- Two (2) years’ previous experience with machine/metal fabrication, MIG welding, and/or TIG welding required.
- Strong work ethic with integrity while prioritizing standards of excellence including safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, and accuracy.
- Knowledge and ability to use and apply intermediate welding skills and fabrication techniques specific to tank construction, bead size, and other specifications.
