CompensationBase pay: $19.87 per hour.
Fringe benefits: $5.09 per hour (in addition to base pay).

We are seeking experienced Federal Collection Specialists to join our onsite collections team in Rock Falls, Illinois. This position is designed for skilled debt collection professionals who are confident managing high-volume phone interactions while also performing backend administrative and investigative work, including skip-tracing and account research.
The Federal Collection Specialist is responsible for resolving outstanding government-related debts in strict accordance with client requirements, federal and state regulations, and company policies. Success in this role requires professionalism, attention to detail, and the ability to balance compliance with effective collection strategies.
Key Responsibilities- Work assigned collection accounts in accordance with established procedures, job aids, and work standards.
- Conduct inbound and outbound phone calls with debtors to resolve delinquent accounts.
- Negotiate payment arrangements while maintaining full regulatory compliance.
- Perform skip-tracing using internet and computer-based research tools.
- Contact individuals, organizations, and governmental entities to verify residential and employment information.
- Accurately document all calls, account activity, and research findings.
- Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in debt collections, including both phone-based collections and administrative account handling.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal Security Clearance.
- Strong verbal communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to spend up to 80% of the workday on the telephone.
- Ability to multi-task and meet performance and compliance deadlines.
- Strong computer skills, including Windows-based systems and internet research.
- Ability to read, follow, and adhere to scripts, procedures, and policies.
- 1–2+ years of collections and/or skip-tracing experience.
- Experience working regulated or government-related accounts.
- Proficiency with Excel or similar software (filters, sorting, data review).
- Bilingual or multilingual skills (Spanish a plus).
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
