Job PurposeThe primary responsibility of the Office Assistant is to serve as administrative support for the Center for Advising and Transfer Success ( CATS ) Office and ensure that every visitor to the office has their needs and questions addressed in a timely, efficient, and positive manner.
Duties and Responsibilities- Work in close cooperation with CATS and Office for Student Success ( OSS ) staff in maintaining daily operation of the office.
- Respond to all inquiries made to CATS via phone calls, e-mails, office visits, etc.
- Provide administrative support to CATS , including, but not limited to, filing, campus errands, making copies, creating flyers/other materials, providing office organization, etc.
- Serve as a resource for Winthrop’s campus, policies, procedures, and services and to share this information with students, faculty/staff, and guests.
- Represent Winthrop University in a professional manner.
- Attend all training sessions as scheduled by CATS and/or OSS .
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Must be a Winthrop student enrolled in courses during time of employment.
- Must qualify for and be awarded work study for the semester(s) of employment.
- Must not be on disciplinary probation.
- Must attend all required trainings and activities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to use general office equipment.
- Experience working with transfer student populations.
- Strong knowledge of Winthrop campus resources.
- Experience doing administrative tasks.
