Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Classification & Compensation Analyst - Myrtle Beach Class & Comp

Alpha Gov (Casa Moon LLC d/b/a Alpha Gov) delivers public-sector consulting for cities, counties, school systems, special districts, utilities, and related agencies. Our work spans classification and compensation, organizational and operational studies, research and program evaluation, economic and workforce analysis, surveys and community research, and applied data and infrastructure research.

We engage experienced practitioners as project-based collaborators. Engagements are remote-first with occasional client travel. When you authorize it, Alpha Gov may name you as an expert collaborator or key personnel on proposals that match your expertise. We build ready teams for live pursuits — not speculative staffing banks.

This opportunity is contingent upon contract award and final staffing approval. Permission will be requested before including a candidate's name or resume in a proposal.

Alpha Gov is seeking a Classification & Compensation Analyst to support an active municipal classification and compensation study (City of Myrtle Beach, SC — proposal due early October 2026).

What you'll do:

  • Review and refine job descriptions for classification accuracy and consistency
  • Administer salary surveys and analyze market data against peer sets
  • Perform internal-equity and pay-compression analysis
  • Draft classification recommendations and supporting analytical tables
  • Contribute analyst qualifications and past-performance narrative to Alpha Gov proposals when permissioned

Named-SME-with-resume role. Candidate evidence deadline 10/01/2026. Consent:
Yes = may be named on proposals;
Ask first = do not name until Chris confirms;
No = never named.

Required:

  • Classification and compensation analysis experience
  • Salary-survey methods experience
  • HR data analysis skills
  • Comfortable as a 1099 / project-based collaborator with travel as needed for client on-sites

Nice to have:

  • Public-sector compensation study experience
  • Job evaluation methodology (point factor, market pricing, or comparable)
  • South Carolina local-government familiarity
