Winthrop Position Title
Campus Center Support Staff (Spring)
Job Purpose
Provide general support, information services, and event setup assistance in the DiGiorgio Campus Center. This position serves as a key point of contact for guests while also ensuring the smooth operation of events and building systems.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Guest Services & Information Support
• Greet and assist visitors at the Campus Center.
• Provide campus maps, directions, and local resources.
• Share accurate information from the Winthrop University website.
• Check out recreational gaming equipment and manage money in the recreational area.
• Ensure guest safety by remaining attentive to emergency procedures and facility concerns.
• Set up and break down tables, chairs, and event resources.
• Set up, operate, and break down A/V and technical equipment for events.
• Provide on-site technical support during events as needed.
• Read and interpret room diagrams and A/V setup instructions.
• Maintain, clean, and inventory equipment, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
Qualifications
• Must be a currently enrolled Winthrop University student with at least 2 semesters remaining.
• Minimum GPA of 2.25.
• Must not be on academic or disciplinary probation.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Effective verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and manage time well.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to meet timelines and priorities.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
• Must be dependable and flexible, with availability on nights, weekends, holidays, and during semester breaks.
Preferred Skills
• Customer Service Experience
• Experience with A/V technology (e.g., mixers, projectors, sound systems).
• Technical troubleshooting experience (computer hardware/software and multimedia systems).
