Job Description
The Department of Management and Marketing at Winthrop University invites applications for an adjunct instructor to teach undergraduate management courses, with primary responsibility for MGMT 331:
Unicorns and Dragons. This course emphasizes inclusive leadership, organizational behavior, workplace culture, communication, and the development of career-ready professionals through active learning and applied experiences.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to high quality undergraduate teaching, student engagement, and creating an positive learning environment.
Depending on departmental needs and qualifications, the adjunct may also teach additional undergraduate management courses.
Position Responsibilities- Teach assigned undergraduate management courses, primarily MGMT 331
- Prepare and deliver engaging instruction using a variety of teaching methods that promote student learning and participation
- Maintain regular communication with students and provide timely feedback on assignments and assessments
- Develop and administer course materials, assignments, and examinations consistent with departmental learning outcomes
- Maintain accurate course records, submit grades by university deadlines, and comply with university academic policies
- Hold reasonable availability for student consultation through office hours or other approved means

Required Qualifications- Master’s degree in Management, Human Resource Management, Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Relevant professional experience in management, leadership, human resources, organizational development, diversity and inclusion, consulting, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work with diverse student populations. Commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and student engagement.
- Earned doctorate (Ph.D., D.B.A., Ed.D., or other relevant terminal degree) in Management, Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Leadership, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- Prior college or university teaching experience, particularly in undergraduate management courses.
- Experience teaching or facilitating topics related to leadership, organizational behavior, workplace culture, diversity and inclusion, teamwork, conflict management, or professional development.
- Experience incorporating experiential learning, case studies, simulations, project-based learning, or community engagement into instruction.
Position is non-tenure, adjunct position.
