Job Description

New Hope’s Education Department has an immediate opening for a Special Education Certified Teacher. This position provides an appropriate education for children enrolled in our on-site, accredited school.

Full Time – 40 hours per week

Schedule:

Monday – Friday

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Providing a quality and differentiated education experience for every student
  • Demonstrating subject matter knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching students
  • with a variety of disabilities
  • Providing a safe and therapeutic classroom environment
  • Data collection including grades, assessments, and student portfolios
  • Collaborating with legal guardians, multi-disciplinary team members, and other stakeholders
  • Designing and implementing student learning plans including IEPs and 504s
  • Completing required paperwork and meeting deadlines
  • Participating in professional development and required trainings to maintain S.C. teacher licensure
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related area
  • Current state teaching certification in Special Education
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, online grade books and learning management systems
