HDR is looking for a Senior Roadway Engineer to join our South Carolina Transportation Business Group. In this role, we’ll count on you to:
- Serve in the lead technical role in the detailed development of urban roadway design projects
- Perform quality assurance checks on major transportation projects on interstate and state highway systems
- Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in a specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity
- Assume some project management duties and interact with clients as needed
- Supervise the work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as needed
- Perform other duties as required
- MSCE
- Experience with Micro Station, InRoads, and Microsoft Office applications
- Local candidates are preferred
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Demonstrated leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
- Project management skills desirable
- Experience with urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, concept alignments, geometrical layout, and CAD base alignment plans
- Knowledge of coordinating survey, grading, drainage, utilities, and layout of various site items is a plus
- Commitment to being an active participant in our employee‑owned culture is required
