Leadership and Technical Opportunities in HDR’s Coastal Engineering Program

HDR is employee‑owned and is seeking qualified individuals to provide project, geographic and technical leadership in our growing coastal engineering and restoration program. Our portfolio includes award‑winning coastal projects that span architecture, federal, transportation, and water resources. HDR’s locally delivered coastal engineers lead the way in solving the nation’s toughest coastal engineering and restoration issues. HDR is ranked #5 in ENR’s 2025 Top Water Design Firm rankings.

• Perform analysis and design of coastal restoration projects, including marsh restoration and beach nourishment.
• Lead shoreline protection projects such as revetments and breakwaters.
• Manage navigation projects including dredging, marinas, and harbors.
• Create plans and specifications and provide project management support.

• Expertise in wave growth and transformation, coastal and estuarine hydrodynamics, littoral processes, sediment transport, marine dredging, and basic geotechnical or structural systems.
• Proficiency in creating plans and specifications.
• Experience in project management.
