Immediate, full-time permanent position Our team at The Recruiting Pros is conducting a search for an Automation Engineer for an industrial manufacturing company located in Rock Hill, SC. Routine responsibilities will require you to:
- Implement Lean manufacturing for the lines within your oversight; promote 5S solutions.
- Design a world class line balancing, with the lowest throughput time using AVIX.
- Design the most efficient and ergonomic workstations, allowing different combinations according to the volumes seasonality.
- Design flexible lines and tools able to assemble a variety of products, with the goal of significantly reducing the number of assembly lines.
- Automate the final test equipment to be renewed.
- Reduce rework by an active route cause analysis from FTR Andon.
- Perform Poka-yoke to build-in quality by using DC power tools.
- Deploy a co-working robotics solution (or equivalent) to be proposed and implemented.
- Maximize operator presence by anticipating accident, having ergonomic stations, through Kaizen and audit.
- Optimize environment footprint in operation (scrap, CO2 in test …).
- Oversee IMS (ISO 9001, 14000 & OHSAS) mandatory, legal and internal requirement fulfillment for manufacturing, including hazard identification and risk assessment.
- Be an active member of the NPD process, to introduce new parts, in due time.
- Optimize line performance; prepare line setup, tooling, equipment, balancing; perform PFMEA.
- Define new work instructions for the Operators, perform training.
- Validate and improve the prototype; provide timely management of the DN (design notification).
- Contribute to a Kaizen & Innovation Process by leading the Kaizen Visual Board from operators; quickly introduce new ideas.
- Benchmark competition and market technology trends to suggest new way of working to increase quality and reduce cost (virtual reality, augmented reality, AGV, automation, AVIX, MES, etc.).
Required Experience B.S. Degree in Automation / Robotics Engineering;
Masters Degree is a plus 10+ years' experience in automation, with successful projects implementation Good understanding of Lean manufacturing concepts, automation and technology trends like Industry 4.0 Knowledge in IMS, quality concepts (Six Sigma, SPC, Cpk, 5S, FMEA, 8D ) Use of IT tools like Line Balancing AVIX, BPCS ERP, MES, PLC Green and/or Black Belt Certification is a plus Exposure to international business within a large organization is a plus
