Principal Engineer; Mechanical Testing

As a Principal Commissioning Engineer – Mechanical Testing, you will be responsible for leading development of Westinghouse products in support of the APx Commissioning organization. You will establish the standard commissioning program and procedures and support infrastructure development needed to support the various scopes. You report to the Commissioning Manager and will be located at Rock Hill, SC or Cranberry Township, PA.

The position is hybrid; you will be onsite 2 days per week.

• Develop and maintain the standard commissioning program strategy document.
• Develop and maintain system/plant turnover process.
• Develop/maintain system scoping & turnover documents and drawings.
• Revise/develop Pre‑op and Start‑up test procedures and specifications.
• Identify and support procurement of specialty test equipment.
• Support APX project teams as requested.
• Respond to customer requests for information as part of the APx Project Development group.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• 7+ years of applicable experience.
• Experience with the operations of nuclear power plants.
• Understanding of ITAACs (Inspections, Tests, Analysis, Acceptance Criteria).

• Understanding of the AP1000 COL process.
• Understanding of AP1000 ITAACs and their use in the delivery of the AP1000.
• AP1000 plant commissioning/testing experience.
• Familiarity with testing and testing analysis.
• Technical background.
• Understanding of project priorities and teamwork abilities.
• Experience mentoring engineers.
• Experience leading engineers in execution of complex tasks.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200 to $129,000 per year.
