POSITION:
Application Engineer - Mobile Robotics

LOCATION:

Duncan, SC

REPORTING LINE:
Head of Sales & Marketing

MOBILITY: ~50% of time

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
The Application Engineer is part of our highly ambitious AGV sales team and reports directly to the Head of Sales & Marketing. They are responsible to understand and translate the customer needs into a project proposal which is the groundwork for further commercial negotiations, inhouse engineering and project planning. The Application Engineer acts as an internal technical consultant to the local sales team and externally as a subject matter expert to our customers.

They contribute proactively to the AGV sales pipeline and support projects throughout the sales process to drive our AGV business plan

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Proactively supports achievement of AGV sales target expectations
• Consults and supports our customers through the entire bidding phase together with the sales manager
• Responsible for technical clarifications of customer requirements
• Perform analysis and calculations on throughput, capacity, and alternative concepts
• Leading contact person to develop technical AGV concepts
• Supports sales manager and customers with clear technical arguments and product expertise
• Independent from sales projects, offers innovative and application driven AGV concepts to the Global AGV team for future product development
• Develop and perform technical sales trainings for local integrators, customers and sales/support staff
• Provide relevant market, customer, and competitor analysis to product management to further drive the standardization and competitiveness of our products

REQUIREMENTS:

• Solid technical understanding in the field of AGVs / AMRs with a Degree in Engineering / Business
  • 5+ years of experience in the technical sales of AGVs / AMRs projects or advanced automation equipment to a range of industries with focus on manufacturing
  • Hands-on experience with automation, grasp its potentials and understand its impact on costs and the balance sheet to best support our customers with ROI calculations, etc.
  • Deep knowledge of process design, implementation and optimization in production and logistics environments. Quick to understand our customers' problems and develop feasible and effective concepts to tackle them.
  • Familiarity with fleet management software as well as ERP level systems integration is desirable (ie - MES, WCS, WMS, etc.).
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel
