Process Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated
Process Engineer
to join our dynamic chemical manufacturing team. Reporting directly to the
Plant Manager
, the Process Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, optimizing, and maintaining chemical production processes to ensure efficiency, quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness. This role is critical in driving continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting safe chemical operations across the facility.

Key Responsibilities

• Process Design & Optimization
  – Develop, evaluate, and improve chemical manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and lower costs.

• Data Analysis
  – Collect and analyze process data using statistical tools to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for improvement.

• Production Support
  – Provide technical support to production teams to resolve process-related issues, minimize downtime, and ensure consistent product quality.

• Documentation
  – Create and maintain process documentation including SOPs, work instructions, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and facility diagrams.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration
  – Work closely with R&D, quality, EHS, maintenance, and supply chain teams to support new product introductions, scale-up activities, and process changes.

• Safety & Compliance
  – Ensure all chemical processes comply with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable safety and environmental regulations. Champion a culture of safety throughout the facility.

• Actively participate in and promote the facility's
  Process Safety Management (PSM)program. Conduct and participate in
  Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs)

• Support
  Management of Change (MOC)processes for all process modifications.

• Continuous Improvement
  – Lead and participate in
  Lean Six Sigma
  initiatives, Kaizen events, and waste reduction projects to drive operational excellence

• Troubleshooting
  – Investigate and resolve process deviations, chemical non-conformances, yield losses, and quality issues using structured problem-solving methodologies.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in
  Chemical or Mechanical
  Engineering
  or a closely related field (e.g., Chemistry, Process or Industrial Engineering).

• 3–5 years of hands-on experience in a process engineering role within a
  chemical manufacturing
  environment.

• Demonstrated experience applying
  Lean Six Sigma methodologies
  in a manufacturing setting

• Experience with
  Process Safety Management (PSM)programs in a chemical facility – preferred

• Familiarity withP&development and review.

• Knowledge of
  PHA
  ,
  FMEA and other risk assessment methodologies.

• Experience with ERP/MES systems (e.g., Oracle) is a plus.

Working Conditions

• Primarily chemical plant/manufacturing floor environment.

• Regular exposure to chemical processing areas requiring strict adherence to PPE protocols (safety glasses, gloves, chemical-resistant clothing, etc.).

• May require occasional travel to other facilities, supplier sites, or customer locations.
