Position: Counsel Substitute (#013061) Operations, Pelzer (GREENVILLE)

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining constant up-to-date knowledge of agency policy and procedures, rules and regulations governing the inmate disciplinary process.
  • Investigates charges and develops all avenues of advocacy necessary to ensure that full due process is afforded the inmate during disciplinary hearings.
  • Interviews witnesses and presents supporting evidence.
  • When security mandates, is present on the inmate's behalf and safeguards the interests of the inmate during testimony.
  • Establishes good working relationship with institutional staff to effectively gather facts relating to inmate disciplinary cases.
  • Works at Perry Correctional Institution.
