Position Summary
Responsible for repair and maintenance of specific clinical equipment. Maintains documentation of all service events, performance tests and corrective maintenance performed on a wide range of equipment types.
ResponsibilitiesPerforms a variety of technical duties, coordinates preventive maintenance and repairs on sophisticated imaging equipment, accessories and instruments with little direct supervision. Performs PM’s and demand service on all imaging equipment to include CT, MRI, US, Cath Labs, Mammo, Nuclear Medicine, Angio, Fluoro, Portables, C-Arms, RIS and General Radiography. Ensures imaging equipment meets all regulations and codes. Provides lead supervision and coordinates the daily activities of junior Imaging Equipment Technicians.
Performs lead functions, instructional and administrative activities and advanced Imaging Equipment technician duties. Manages and maintains the equipment electronic database. Prepares reporting including EOC, Medical Equipment Management Plan, equipment failure analysis, productivity reports and safety reports. Makes recommendations on the purchase and disposition of imaging equipment. Must analyze, develop, design, modify, plan, install, evaluate, certify and correct system malfunctions on complex imaging equipment and systems that have vitally interrelated, and sometimes dispersed subsystems.
Prepares and presents instructional material and conducts training in the techniques and methods of operating medical systems for technical personnel. Serves as a limited technical advisor to clinical personnel. Installs, repairs, calibrates and maintains imaging equipment and instrumentation following standard practices.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Engineering or related field or the equivalent combination of education and/or technical experience.
Experience:
Minimum of seven (7) years experience in the repair and maintenance of imaging equipment. Thorough knowledge of electronics, electricity, physics, chemistry, anatomy, physiology, optics, pneumatics, mechanics, algebra and trigonometry associated with medical equipment.
Certifications:
Preferred CBET or CRES certification.
