Position Summary

The Parts Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the parts inventory to support service technicians, customers, and branch operations. This role ensures inventory accuracy, maintains optimal stock levels, coordinates purchasing and receiving activities, and provides timely distribution of parts to maximize equipment uptime and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate inventory records through cycle counts, audits, and reconciliation of inventory discrepancies.
  • Receive, inspect, stock, and organize incoming parts shipments.
  • Pick, package, and issue parts for service technicians, customer orders, and internal departments.
  • Monitor inventory levels and initiate replenishment orders to maintain appropriate stock while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Coordinate with vendors and suppliers regarding purchase orders, backorders, returns, warranty claims, and shipment status.
  • Process parts transactions accurately within the company's ERP or inventory management system.
  • Research and identify correct replacement parts using parts catalogs, technical documentation, and manufacturer resources.
  • Maintain warehouse organization, cleanliness, and compliance with company safety standards.
  • Collaborate with the Service, Sales, and Operations teams to ensure timely availability of parts for scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs.
  • Analyze inventory trends and recommend improvements to inventory levels and stocking strategies.
  • Assist with annual physical inventories and inventory reporting.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance inventory accuracy, efficiency, and customer service.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in business, supply chain, or a related field preferred.
  • 3–6+ years of experience in inventory control, parts management, warehouse operations, or industrial equipment parts.
  • Experience in the material handling, forklift, heavy equipment, automotive, or industrial equipment industries preferred.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control principles and warehouse operations.
  • Experience using ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and operate material handling equipment or become certified if required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of forklift components and industrial equipment parts.
  • Experience with cycle count programs and inventory optimization.
  • Purchasing and vendor management experience.
  • Understanding of warranty processing and returns.
  • Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
  • Technical experience with SAP S/4 HANA ERP system

  • Reduction in obsolete and excess inventory.
  • Timely processing of receiving and purchasing activities.
