Schedule Details/Additional Information:
- This position will work Monday-Thursday . The clinic is open Monday-Thursday and Fridays .
- This position is located at the City of Rock Hill Employee Health clinic.
- FNP or PA with Primary Care experience preferred.
Pay Range $47.50 - $71.25
Position Highlights:
- Additional staff includes a CMA and RN.
- Population served:
All full-time City of Rock Hill employees, all spouses & dependents, insured with City of Rock Hill. - Practice sees traditional acute episodic care and full primary care.
- Practice also performs workers’ comp & occupational medicine services, supported by a board certified Occupational Medicine physician.
- Call responsibility but no in‑person shifts overnights, weekends or major holidays.
Ideal Candidates:
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience required in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Urgent Care. Occupational Medicine experience preferred but not required.
- NC Licensure and DEA.
- DOT certification required or must be obtained within 90 days of start date.
- American Heart Association BLS.
- Must be able to work autonomously.
Essential Functions / Position Details
- Provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment, education, referral, and follow-up for a shared or owned panel of patients or handles by‑visit care.
- Manages multiple chronic illnesses, performs minimally invasive procedures, and works with a stable patient population.
- Recommends screenings and tests based on patients’ demographics.
- Manages care within protocols mutually agreed upon by physician and APP team members.
- Identifies abnormal findings early and initiates appropriate intervention.
- Provides care for patients on a by‑visit basis, including virtual visits.
- Manages acute illnesses or chronic medication administration for a stable patient population.
- Performs occupational health exams such as firefighter exams, workers’ compensation, DOT exams, and law enforcement exams. Additional training will be provided if experience is limited. FMCSA DOT examiner certification will be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Physical Requirements
Work requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds when handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Must speak English fluently and in understandable terms. Must possess intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and finger dexterity. Must have the ability to react and perform in stressful situations.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Must have or be eligible for a DEA license. Approved to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state one works. Eligible for prescriptive authority application through the Board of Nursing or Medical Board in SC required. BLS required per policy guidelines with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice. Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize and concentrate.
Nurse Practitioner
Master's Degree or Doctor of Nursing Practice required. License to practice as a Registered Nurse required. Certification in the area of practice from a nationally recognized certifying body required. FNP certification according to population served.
Physician Assistant
Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required;
Master's Degree preferred. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.
