Under the general supervision of the Nursing Supervisor, will provide medically necessary nursing services to clients in assigned areas within CCMHC. Will also ensure frequent interaction with other community agencies and maintain positive professional relationships. Responsibilities for the Registered Nurse:
- Will assess for & provide medically necessary nursing services including but not limited to nursing assessments and medication monitoring for effectiveness and side effects.
- Will participate in planning, implementing & evaluating nursing services. Will attend and participate in Treatment Team meetings/staffings, including staffing with MD vide medical testing for staff as required. Pursue continuing education and training. Maintain positive professional relationships with MHC staff, and community agencies, as well as clients and their families. Work to overcome the stigma of mental illness and mental health services by providing education, training and support services to the community at large.
- Will provide coordination & consultation for case managers and MD's to meet the needs of the clients served including but not limited to medication needs, administering injections, and necessary coordination with outside resources regarding health care needs.
- Will collaborate with Treatment Team members in the coordination of education programs to promote client care continuity integrating psychiatric nursing services with other clinical services. Will provide nursing education to clients and their families regarding medication, management of symptoms, health care issues, and healthy living.
