Quality Inspector

Location: Rock Hill, SC
Schedule: Monday – Friday (Onsite)
Compensation: Starting at $70,000 annually (Based on Experience)

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to support the development and growth of our Quality Assurance department in Rock Hill, South Carolina. This role is ideal for a quality-focused professional who thrives in a precision manufacturing environment and is passionate about ensuring products meet the highest standards.

The Quality Inspector will play a key role in establishing and maintaining quality laboratory operations, performing inspections, supporting production teams, conducting capability studies, and ensuring compliance with customer and industry requirements.

Essential Responsibilities

Quality Lab Development

  • Assist in establishing and organizing quality laboratory operations for production and customer part validation.
  • Support the selection and implementation of inspection equipment and testing procedures for new products.
  • Integrate new quality equipment and improve laboratory processes to meet operational and customer requirements.
  • Ensure the quality lab is fully prepared to support production activities.

Quality Inspection & Validation

  • Inspect products and components to verify conformance with customer specifications and quality standards.
  • Accurately document inspection and measurement results.
  • Support production teams in identifying root causes of quality issues and implementing corrective actions.
  • Perform first article inspections and production part validation activities.

CMM Programming & Measurement Systems

  • Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
  • Develop and maintain measurement programs for new and existing products.
  • Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment.
  • Support gauge development, validation, and readiness for production use.
  • Ensure fixtures are prepared and capable through Measurement System Analysis (MSA) validation.

Process & Quality Control

  • Conduct capability studies including Cmk and Cpk analysis.
  • Perform full PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) measurements and documentation.
  • Manage periodic gauge inspections and ensure measurement equipment availability.
  • Coordinate calibration and maintenance activities for inspection equipment and measuring systems.
  • Serve as the primary quality laboratory contact for operational quality control matters.

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience programming and operating CMM equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong understanding of both metric and imperial measurement systems.
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience performing Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
  • Knowledge of process capability studies including Cpk and Cmk.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and accountability.

Preferred

  • Experience programming and operating Zeiss CMM systems.
  • Experience with Hexagon or similar CMM platforms.
  • Experience in automotive, aerospace, or precision manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of PPAP requirements and quality management systems.
