Job Description

Commercial Electrician – Commercial Projects (Charlotte, NC)

$28–$31/hr. (based on experience and skill level)

TEC Electric is hiring experienced Commercial Electricians to support installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical systems on commercial and industrial construction projects in the Charlotte area.

This is a hands-on field role working directly with project teams to install and maintain electrical systems — not just basic labor, but full-scopeelectrical work including conduit, terminations, system troubleshooting, and code-compliant installations.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Install, maintain, and repair electrical power, lighting, communication, security, and control systems
• Pull wire, run conduit, and perform terminations
• Assist with demolition of existing electrical systems, including fire alarm systems
  
  Troubleshoot electrical systems and diagnose issues to determine corrective action
• Use testing devices to inspect and verify system performance
• Read and interpret blueprints, electrical drawings, schematics, and project specification
  
  Ensure all work meets current NEC standards and local code requirements
• Travel as needed based on project location

What We’re Looking For

Must-Have

• 5+ years of commercial electrical experience
• Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems and installation practices
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality workmanship
• Ability to pass a criminal background check

Nice to Have (Not Required)

• Experience with fire alarm systems and low voltage components
• Experience on large-scale commercial or industrial projects
• Strong technical/math skills related to electrical calculations
