Special Education/Intervention Teacher
Jordan Catholic School is seeking a driven and qualified Intervention Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a commitment to inclusive education and have a strong understanding of diverse learning needs. As an elementary intervention teacher, you will work with grade Kindergarten through grade 4 students, parents, and colleagues to create a learning environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth for children with learning differences or behavior disorders.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to develop and implement effective individualized learning plans tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.
- Design and implement instructional strategies and materials that accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students have access to the curriculum.
- Provide specialized instruction in both small group and one-on-one settings, addressing students' specific academic and behavioral needs.
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. Collect and analyze data to inform instructional decisions and goals.
- Communicate with teachers, administration and parents to ensure continuity of services and support for students with disabilities.
- Work with colleagues and support staff to develop and implement behavior intervention plans as needed.
- Embrace and uphold the Catholic mission and values of Jordan Catholic School, integrating faith-based principles into classroom instruction and interactions with students.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field;
Valid teaching license/certification in Special Education or Intervention;
Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including but not limited to specific learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, and developmental disabilities;
Knowledge of evidence-based practices in special education and intervention;
Must be able to pass a drug screening and criminal background check;
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and parents/guardians. Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support the academic and social-emotional growth of students;
