Job Title:
Special Education/Intervention Teacher
Jordan Catholic School is seeking a driven and qualified Intervention Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a commitment to inclusive education and have a strong understanding of diverse learning needs. As an elementary intervention teacher, you will work with grade Kindergarten through grade 4 students, parents, and colleagues to create a learning environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth for children with learning differences or behavior disorders.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and parents to develop and implement effective individualized learning plans tailored to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities.
- Differentiated Instruction:
Design and implement instructional strategies and materials that accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities, ensuring all students have access to the curriculum. This will include in-class monitoring and aiding to fully understand each child's unique learning abilities. - Small Group and Individual Instruction:
Provide specialized instruction in both small group and one-on-one settings, addressing students' specific academic and behavioral needs. - Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly. Collect and analyze data to inform instructional decisions and goals. - Communication:
Communicate with teachers, administration and parents to ensure continuity of services and support for students with disabilities. Communicate regularly with teachers, administration and parents regarding student progress reports, goals, and strategies for support. - Behavior Management:
Work with colleagues and support staff to develop and implement behavior intervention plans as needed. - Catholic Identity:
Embrace and uphold the Catholic mission and values of Jordan Catholic School, integrating faith-based principles into classroom instruction and interactions with students.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field;
- Valid teaching license/certification in Special Education or Intervention;
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including but not limited to specific learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, and developmental disabilities;
- Knowledge of evidence-based practices in special education and intervention;
- Must be able to pass a drug screening and criminal background check;
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and parents/guardians. Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support the academic and social-emotional growth of students;

- Part time salary is calculated on a prorated basis ($33, full time salary range)
