Field Technician; CMT​/Inspection

IMEG is hiring a Field Technician in Rock Island, IL or Peoria, IL to perform routine field tasks as directed by the Construction Manager. In this first‑level trainee role, you may be assigned to a construction project to serve as a construction observer—making field measurements, completing documentation entries, and reading and interpreting plans.

• Perform basic field inspection, testing, and documentation
• Support construction observation activities, including field measurements, documentation entries, and reading/interpreting plans
• Assist with on‑site or laboratory testing of soils, concrete, and hot mix asphalt
• Attend training to achieve various certifications
• Operate company vehicles
• Maintain equipment and vehicles
• Observe safety and security procedures

• Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM), or Engineering preferred
• Prior experience in the building design consulting or construction industry
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
• Ability to write simple correspondence
• Ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to read a tape measure in both fractions and tenths
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Must be able to work as part of a team
• Must always maintain professional conduct
• Valid driver’s license required with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier
• Advanced/Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook

Salary Range: $51,000 – $84,000 (may vary based on location). Other rewards may include annual bonuses and stock ownership options.
