IMEG is hiring a Field Technician in Rock Island, IL, to perform routine field tasks as directed by the Construction Manager. In this first-level trainee role, your work will be checked by others in process and upon completion, and you may be assigned to a construction project to support field measurements, documentation, and plan interpretation.
** Principal Responsibilities
*** Perform basic field inspection, testing, and documentation
* Support on-site or laboratory testing of soils, concrete, and hot mix asphalt
* Serve as a construction observer as assigned, making field measurements and documentation entries
* Read and interpret plans as needed to support field activities
* Attend training to achieve various certifications
* Operate company vehicles safely and responsibly
* Maintain equipment and vehicles
* Observe safety and security procedures while working in the field
** Required Qualifications and Skills
*** Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM), or Engineering preferred
* Prior experience in the building design consulting or construction industry preferred
** Physical Requirements
*** Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds
* Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull
* Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises
