Assistant Professor Nursing

Overview

Shift: Full Time; 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

The Assistant Professor instructs undergraduate nursing students in didactic, laboratory, and clinical settings while fostering a supportive, inclusive, and high-quality learning environment. Plans, implements, and evaluates learning experiences in alignment with the Trinity College of Nursing vision, mission, values, and program outcomes. Utilizes innovative, evidence-based teaching strategies to promote critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and professional development of future nurses committed to improving the health of individuals, families, and communities.

This position fulfills the academic triad of teaching, scholarship, and service through active engagement in scholarly and service activities that support professional growth and program advancement. Contributes to curriculum development and continuous program improvement, collaborates with faculty and administration to support student success and accreditation requirements, and participates in assessment and quality improvement initiatives.

• Meets the business needs of the department with regular, reliable attendance.
• Maintains current licenses and/or certifications required for the position.
• Practices knowledge of HIPAA, TJC, DNV, OSHA, FERPA, TITLE IX, and other federal/state regulatory guidelines guiding higher education and healthcare.
• Completes all annual education and competency requirements within the calendar year.
• Is knowledgeable of College, hospital, and department compliance requirements; raises questions or concerns to the supervisor and takes action on concerns related to compliance.
• Supports the vision, mission, and values of Trinity College.

Education:

• Masters degree in nursing

Experience:

• 2 years of clinical practice

License(s)/Certification(s):

• Registered Nurse license in both Iowa and Illinois or be eligible to do so
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• ACLS certification
