Job Summary:As a Houseman/Porter, you will remove trash, transport linen and terry, move boxes of product and supplies and perform heavy lifting for the housekeeping department. You will be responsible for vacuuming public areas, corridors and maintaining the pool area. This position's wage is $15.
Essential Functions- Develops, maintains a Service Culture that ensures the delivery of superior internal/external guest service by all team members.
- Removes trash from closet area and compacts it.
- Assist room attendants from removing trash and debris from rooms.
- Transports soiled linens to laundry department.
- Returns clean linens and terry to housekeeping storage on the guest floors.
- Vacuum public areas.
- Maintain pool area and fitness rooms.
- Assist in inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Shampoo carpet and buff tile.
- Sweep and mop stair wells daily.
- Cleans smoking urns.
- Deliver boxes of product and supplies to housekeeping department or warehouse.
- Assist room attendants in cleaning rooms.
- Picks up trash and debris in public areas.
- Cleans shower and bathroom in pool areas.
- Cleans glass on windows in public areas.
- Flips mattresses quarterly.
- Ensures department adheres to all regulatory, departmental and company policies and procedures.
- Will be able to work varied shifts (days, nights, weekends, holidays).
- Knowledge of all promotions and events.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong administrative, organizational and decision‑making abilities.
- Ability to lead, influence others and coach for success.
- Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations.
- Respond to visual and aural cues.
- Read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Able to work flexible shifts.
- Operate in mentally and physically stressful situations.
- Able to be confined to a small area for a long period of time.
