- Assist the parts supervisor in maintaining and coordinating inventories at all shop locations, including the distribution center
- Balance inventory-on-hand costs with the cost of equipment waiting for parts
- Secure the lowest pricing on parts and materials
- Negotiate contract pricing
- Place and purchase parts orders with vendors for outside shops
- Coordinate inventories in the distribution center and outside shops
- Assist with setting up inventories for new locations
- Assist in coordinating annual inventory counts at all locations
- Place non-stock parts orders
- Research pricing on specific orders
- Assist Warranty Administration
- Follow up on and track orders for multiple locations
- Perform other duties as needed
- Experience with Heavy Duty Equipment parts REQUIRED
- High School completion or equivalent
- Working knowledge of inventory control procedures
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills essential for internal and external customers
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work as part of a team or independently
- Ability to react to change productively
- Excellent attendance
- May require travel to regional terminals
- Weekend and night hours occasionally required
- Overtime may be required during peak periods
- Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently
- Ability to work in inside and outside environmental conditions, including extreme weather
- Ability to stand, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and reach for sustained periods
- Ability to work around noise, moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, chemicals, fumes, odors, dusts, mists and gases
- Close visual acuity for operating machines and motor vehicles, inspecting small defects and parts, using measurement devices, and assembly or fabrication
- Manual dexterity including fingering, grasping, typing and repetitive wrist, hand and finger motion
- Talking and hearing required to communicate with and listen to others
Demonstrates expertise in inventory control procedures and heavy-duty equipment parts management, with strong negotiation skills for securing competitive pricing. Capable of effective communication and problem-solving in a team-oriented environment.
