Join the culinary team at John Deere - Eurest, where you’ll help prepare quality meals in a clean, team-oriented kitchen environment. This entry-level cook position is a great opportunity to grow your skills and support a high-volume food service operation.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare basic hot and cold food items following recipes and portion guidelines
  • Assist with food prep including chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients
  • Set up and break down workstations and keep prep areas clean and organized
  • Maintain proper food storage and labeling practices to ensure safety and freshness
  • Support line cooks and kitchen staff during busy meal periods
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation standards during preparation and cleanup
  • Assist with dishwashing and cleaning tasks as needed
  • Communicate any supply shortages or maintenance issues to supervisors

Skills:

  • Basic knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques
  • Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and take on new tasks
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Good communication and time management skills
  • Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs

Requirements:

  • Non-slip shoes required; black kitchen-safe footwear preferred
  • Hair must be tied back; beard nets required where applicable
  • Clean uniform appearance; chef coat and hat provided by client
  • Must practice good personal hygiene and handwashing at all times
  • No visible headphones or mobile device use while on the kitchen floor
  • Punctuality and professional conduct expected at all times

  • Cook food items according to recipes and food production standards
  • Ensure food is safely prepared and at the proper temperature for consumption
  • Keep cooking station clean and orderly during shift
  • Comply with all sanitation and safety standards to ensure a safe work environment
  • Safely use and operate cooking appliances and utensils
  • Provide friendly and helpful customer service for guests as needed
  • Assist in ordering and receiving food products for the kitchen as needed
  • Work in a busy environment and standing for long periods of time
