Join the culinary team at John Deere - Eurest, where you’ll help prepare quality meals in a clean, team-oriented kitchen environment. This entry-level cook position is a great opportunity to grow your skills and support a high-volume food service operation.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare basic hot and cold food items following recipes and portion guidelines
- Assist with food prep including chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients
- Set up and break down workstations and keep prep areas clean and organized
- Maintain proper food storage and labeling practices to ensure safety and freshness
- Support line cooks and kitchen staff during busy meal periods
- Follow all food safety and sanitation standards during preparation and cleanup
- Assist with dishwashing and cleaning tasks as needed
- Communicate any supply shortages or maintenance issues to supervisors
Skills:
- Basic knowledge of food handling and preparation techniques
- Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
- Willingness to learn and take on new tasks
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Good communication and time management skills
- Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs
Requirements:
- Non-slip shoes required; black kitchen-safe footwear preferred
- Hair must be tied back; beard nets required where applicable
- Clean uniform appearance; chef coat and hat provided by client
- Must practice good personal hygiene and handwashing at all times
- No visible headphones or mobile device use while on the kitchen floor
- Punctuality and professional conduct expected at all times

- Keep cooking station clean and orderly during shift

- Provide friendly and helpful customer service for guests as needed
- Assist in ordering and receiving food products for the kitchen as needed
- Work in a busy environment and standing for long periods of time
