Journeyman Insulator / Metal & Cladding

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply insulation materials including calcium silicate, mineral wool, fiberglass, cellular glass, and aerogel to hot or cold industrial surfaces.
  • Read industrial blueprints and isometric drawings to determine layouts, dimensions, and material requirements.
  • Measure and cut insulation / metal & cladding precisely to fit around valves, flanges, pumps, elbows, and irregular geometries.
  • Install protective jacketing made of aluminum, stainless steel, or PVC to weatherproof and seal the insulated systems.
  • Secure materials properly using wire, bands, rivets, screws, and specialized vapor-barrier mastics.
  • Work safely at heights using ladders, scaffolding, and aerial boom/scissor lifts.
  • Adhere to safety protocols including mandatory PPE, fall protection, and daily hazard assessments.

Required Qualifications and

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of proven experience in Industrial Mechanical Insulation / Metal & Cladding (refineries, power plants, or chemical facilities).
  • Material Knowledge:
    Deep understanding of industrial insulation types, temperature ratings, and application techniques.
  • Physical Stamina:
    Ability to lift to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in tight or elevated spaces under varying weather conditions.
  • Compliance:
    Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background screening.
  • Transit:
    Possess a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to the jobsite.
  • Must speak fluent English - Bilingual is a plus.
  • Work Schedule:

    Monday thru Friday - 10-hour shifts.
  • Hourly Pay: $23.00-$25.00 DOE
