Pacifi Corp seeks a Journeyman Station Wireman to support reliable electric service across its western U.S. system. In this field-based role, you will install, maintain and repair station wiring, control circuits and protection systems in substations and related facilities. Responsibilities include reading schematics, performing electrical testing and troubleshooting, and supporting grid modernization and renewable integration projects. Working in a safety-focused, regulated environment, you will follow strict procedures, collaborate with engineers and field crews, respond to outages and help ensure dependable power for our customers.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain and repair station wiring, control circuits and protection systems at substations and power facilities
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics and wiring diagrams to perform safe and accurate work
- Perform testing, troubleshooting and diagnostics on station equipment, controls and communication circuits
- Support grid reliability, modernization and renewable integration projects at Pacifi
- Corp facilities
- Follow strict safety procedures, lockout/tagout and regulatory standards in a high-voltage environment
- Collaborate with engineers, operators and field crews to plan and execute maintenance and upgrades
- Document work performed, test results and equipment status in maintenance and asset systems
- Participate in on-call, emergency response and outage support to restore power and maintain service
Required Skills
- Substation wiring and control circuit installation
- Reading electrical schematics and one-line diagrams
- Protection and control systems knowledge
- High-voltage safety and switching practices
- Electrical testing and troubleshooting (meters, relays, controls)
- Conduit, cable tray and terminations
- Lockout/tagout and OSHA electrical standards
- Use of electrical hand and power tools
- Maintenance documentation and work order systems
- SCADA/communications familiarity
