Accounts Payable Specialist

Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Rockford, Illinois. This position offers a contract-to-permanent opportunity, providing a pathway for long-term growth within the organization. The ideal candidate will excel at managing financial transactions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the smooth operation of the accounts payable process.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee the complete accounts payable process, including vendor invoices, employee reimbursements, credit card transactions, and payments.

- Process electronic fund transfers (EFTs) and other electronic payments for vendors and employees with accuracy and efficiency.

- Maintain organized and precise accounts payable records to ensure transparency and compliance.

- Prepare and post journal entries across multiple accounts, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.

- Respond to assignments and inquiries promptly, ensuring no tasks are overlooked.

- Collaborate with the Controller and Corporate Finance team to provide support as needed.

- Assist with additional projects and tasks to support the team during peak periods or special initiatives.

Requirements - Proven experience in accounts payable processes, including coding invoices and account coding.

- Familiarity with automated clearing house (ACH) transactions and check runs.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate financial records.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

- Proficiency in financial systems and tools, with the ability to learn new software quickly.

- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and external vendors.

- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement.
