Grain Accounting Clerk

The Basics

Location: Sheffield, IL

Compensation: $21/hr and up

• Process grain accounting transactions
• Interpret documents from customers (invoices, statements, checks, etc.)
• Perform accounting and clerical functions to support supervisors
• Execute timely advances, payments and invoices in grain accounting software
• Identify and resolve issues that may be found in your day-to-day processing
• Maintain status of easily accessible reports, files and records.
• Provide great customer service by working directly with producers regarding settlements, payments, and account questions
• Assist in the purchase of farm products/commodities such as – but not limited to – wheat, corn, sorghum, and/or soybeans
• Work on special projects under direct supervision and other miscellaneous tasks as assigned

• High school diploma, GED, or related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with grain accounting is preferred.
• Proficiency in math
• Experience with Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel.
• Great interpersonal skills and meticulous attention to detail

• This job is not physically strenuous. You must be able to sit at a desk and be able to utilize computers
• This job requires the ability to read and comprehend written and oral operational and safety instructions and related rules, policies, and memos, and to communicate clearly with your co-workers and supervisors
• It is important to have vision and hearing skills that help you communicate with good interpersonal skills
