Reporting to the Manager of Accounting & Financial Reporting, the Senior Accountant will support the Professional Tools Finance organization. In this role, the Senior Accountant will be responsible for general ledger accounting and account reconciliations, supporting the month‑end close and financial reporting cycle, serving as main point of contact for internal & external audits and internal controls, and performing other tasks as requested such as process improvement projects.
This position will be located in either Rockford, Illinois or Elyria, Ohio.
- Responsible for analysis of various accrual accounts and applicable journal entries
- Responsible for performing account reconciliations to ensure transactions are recorded in compliance with accounting standards
- Perform monthly review of key account reconciliations
- Support annual internal and external audits by working cross‑functionally
- Assist with project work related to system upgrades/implementations
- Responsible for maintaining financial controls as process owner for key accounting processes
- Lead initiatives for process improvement and data management projects
- Assess compliance of standard operating procedures and internal controls
- Assist in gathering information for ad‑hoc reporting requests
- Perform all duties in accordance with Company Business Conduct Guidelines
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related business field
- At least 4 years of related experience in accounting or finance
- Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong business acumen, critical thinking, and analytical/technical skills
- Demonstrate ability to motivate by leading others
- Possess the ability to multitask, prioritize, work independently and in a group setting
- Must be accounting focused with a good knowledge of GAAP
- Intermediate proficiency with MS Office suite
- Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related business field and/or CPA
- Experience working in a manufacturing industry preferred
- JDE and/or Hyperion experience preferred

The salary range for this role is $75,000–$95,000 annually, commensurate with the skills, talent, capabilities, and experience each candidate brings to a role.
