This is a part-time hybrid role for a Bookkeeper at The Law Office of Joshua
C. Smith, P.C., located in Rockford, IL, with the opportunity to perform some tasks remotely. Key responsibilities include managing financial records, preparing financial statements, utilizing accounting software, reconciling accounts, recording journal entries, and supporting the firm's financial operations. The Bookkeeper will ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and assist in maintaining compliance with financial regulations.
- Proficiency in bookkeeping tasks, including managing accounts and recording transactions
- Strong knowledge of accounting software and ability to work with financial systems
- Experience in preparing financial statements and generating accurate reports
- Knowledge of financial principles, including journal entries and account reconciliation
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet deadlines
- Effective communication skills and a proactive mindset
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
- Prior experience in legal or small business environments is a plus
