What This Role Owns

As a Meeting Event Manager, you are not just executing programs---you are owning them.

You will serve as the day-to-day client lead, responsible for delivering seamless, high-impact meetings and events from concept through execution and reconciliation.

This role sits at the intersection of:

Key Responsibilities Client Leadership & Program Ownership
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients and programs
  • Lead planning calls, build trust, and proactively guide decision‑making
  • Translate client goals into actionable event strategies and experiences
  • Anticipate needs, solve problems early, and elevate the overall client experience
Program Planning & Execution
  • Plan and execute meetings, incentives, and conferences end-to-end
  • Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and run-of-show documents
  • Lead all logistics including venue sourcing, F&B, AV/production, transportation, and staffing
  • Oversee on‑site execution, ensuring a seamless attendee experience
Financial Management
  • Build and actively manage program budgets (often $500K—$3M+)
  • Track expenses, forecast changes, and protect program margins
  • Communicate budget updates, scope changes, and financial risks proactively to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Review and approve vendor invoices; reconcile post-event budgets
  • Identify cost efficiencies without compromising experience
Vendor & Partner Management
  • Lead sourcing, negotiation, and contracting with hotels and key vendors
  • Build strong relationships with partners to maximize concessions and value
  • Ensure all deliverables align with program goals and Tangerine standards
Registration & Attendee Experience
  • Oversee registration strategy and execution (Cvent or similar platforms)
  • Ensure accuracy, reporting, and a seamless attendee journey
  • Partner with Attendee Experience team to elevate every touchpoint
Team Collaboration & Leadership
  • Collaborate with internal teams across production, registration, and operations
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members
  • Support staffing plans and delegate responsibilities effectively
Operational Excellence
  • Ensure adherence to Tangerine SOPs, tools, and best practices
  • Contribute to process improvement and scalability initiatives

    Track and report on program performance and key metrics

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of corporate or agency meeting & event planning experience
  • Proven ability to manage full program lifecycle independently
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing event budgets
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple programs simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with Cvent (Registration, App, or Passkey) strongly preferred
Preferred Qualifications
  • CMP (Certified Meeting Professional) or similar certification
  • Experience supporting pharmaceutical, biotech, or large corporate programs
