Construction Technician

Baxter & Woodman offers a rewarding opportunity for a Construction Technician to support the firm’s construction group on a variety of projects, from roadways to underground utility installations. This role supports planning, design, and construction of diverse facilities and engages directly with clients.

• Support construction projects ranging from roadways to underground utility installations.
• Perform quantity computation and construction layout/survey tasks.
• Observe, measure, and document construction activities.
• Complete daily construction reports in a timely manner.
• Assist project engineers and managers with diverse tasks during project delivery.
• Provide general civil engineering and client services.

• Associate’s degree in Structural/Architecture and/or Construction Management Technology desired, or related field experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Construction Inspector or Technician on construction projects.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with residents, businesses, and public agencies.
• Ability to travel throughout the northern Chicagoland and Southern Wisconsin area (own transportation).
• Strong teamwork, written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.

Hourly pay range: $28.00 - $40.00 per hour. Actual compensation packages vary by skill set, experience, and certifications.
